About TrailBound Project

TrailBound Project is a New Jersey-based outdoor skills, hiking, and backpacking school founded by search and rescue professionals dedicated to filling the woods with capable people. Beyond hiking, bushwhacking, snowshoeing, and backpacking courses and events throughout NJ, the Catskills, and the Adirondacks, TrailBound Project offers hands-on training in critical skills, including map and compass navigation, wilderness first aid, fire building, and emergency shelter construction. Additionally, TBP has become a robust outdoor community, with the help of its free “Dirt Time” gatherings, where “TrailBounders” find advice, encouragement, and friends to adventure with. By bridging the gap between novice enthusiasm and expert preparedness, the school aims to create a network of capable TrailBounders who are not only equipped for their own adventures but are also ready to assist others in the backcountry.
